About the blog

It's a simple math problem. The average age of a credit union member is 10 years older than the average age of a North American. If credit unions do not reverse the trend and attract the next generation of credit union members, the future doesn't look so bright.

The Why Gen Y Blog has a simple mission: to equip credit union executives and marketers with relevant information that will help them succeed in attracting and retaining new Generation Y members.

The votes are in: day 1

We typically don't reveal our public votes for our Young & Free Spokespeople seaches until the voting phase is completed, but we've decided to experiment with this contest to see how it plays out.

So every couple of days we'll reveal the leader board and a few facts about the voting. Within the first 24 hours of voting we had just over 1,000 votes. The votes are quite evenly dispersed with less than 100 votes separating 1st to 13th!

1st – Amy McGraw
2nd – James Robert Lay
3rd – The Disclosures
4th – Casandra
5th – Matthew Hawkins
6th – Sophia & Co.
7th – K-Dawg & Lil'K
8th – Bryson Baham
9th – Cody Strawn
10th – Sky Bennett
11th – Matt Davis
12th – Evan White
13th – Alex Sellen

We've also heard that the voting ballot is hard to find, so we've made some adjustments. We've added a direct link banner to all of the entries and moved the ballot from the right to the left on the contest page and beefed up the VOTE heading. Hopefully this will minimize any confusion.

Thanks!

Tim
